Alan Bell is an American open water swimmer who completed a successful crossing of the Catalina Channel at the age of 51 in a time of 9 hours 28 minutes from Catalina Island to the California mainland in 2001.

Catalina Channel Half Century Club

Bell is a member of the Catalina Channel Half Century Club, a group of open water swimmers who have successfully crossed the Catalina Channel over the age of 50 years.
