Balasaheb Ramchandra Ghadge
Balasaheb Ramchandra Ghadge is an Indian open water swimmer and police officer who crossed the Strait of Gibraltar on 8 August 2001 at the age of 40 in 5 hours 28 minutes from Lanchones in Spain to Morocco together with Rajiv Trivedi. He crossed the Strait of Gibraltar on 26 August 2001 in 5 hours 55 minutes again from Lanchones in Spain to Morocco together with Vinod Ramchandra Ghadge. He crossed the Strait of Gibraltar for the third time on 2 August 2001 at the age of 41 in 6 hours 10 minutes starting from Perejil Island in Spain, together with Vinod Ramchandra Ghadge.

He also crossed the Palk Strait in 2011 between India and Sri Lanka in 12 hours 31 minutes together with 50-year-old Rajiv Trivedi. They started the 30 km long swim from Talaimannar coast at 4 am on 25 March and reached Dhanushkodi, a city at the southern tip of Rameswaram island in Tamil Nadu, at 4:30 pm.
