The British Gas Great Swim Series is the world's most successful open water swimming series organized and owned by Nova International Limited. Great Swim is a trading name of Nova International Limited. The British Gas Great Swim Series is broadcast on Channel 4 in England and consists of the following swims:
British Gas Great East Swim British Gas Great North Swim British Gas Great London Swim British Gas Great Scottish Swim British Gas Great Manchester Swim (formerly British Gas Great Salford Swim)
A total of 22,000 swimmers took part in the 2011 British Gas Great Swim Series 2011. Each of the five events taking place across the United Kingdom have their own unique feel, from the serene Strathclyde Country Park, home of the British Gas Great Scottish Swim to the skyscraper-lined Royal Victoria Dock which hosts the British Gas Great London Swim. With distances ranging from a half a mile to two miles and expert safety crews on hand at all times, the events are suitable for swimmers of levels, from Olympians to first-time participants.
