Cadiz Brian Curtis Mile
From Openwaterpedia
The Cadiz Brian Curtis Mile is part of the Cadiz Swim Series in the Western Cape in South Africa. The event was started in 1999 in memory of Brian Curtis, one of the founding directors of Cadiz Holdings Limited, in 1994. As a director of Cadiz, Curtis' main role was to implement and develop Cadiz Securities' fixed income research and brokering business. He was one of the founding directors of Cadiz Holdings Limited and a keen swimmer who died tragically in a motorcycle accident in 1998.
Under the direction of Ram Barkai, Cadiz now plays a major role in rolling out and organizing a number of open water swims, from mass participation swims to extreme swims of cold and rough nature.
