Carol Cashell is a 34-year-old experienced open water swimmer from Cork, Ireland who completed the Lake Zurich Marathon Swim and the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim on 8 June 2013 in 7 hours 46 minutes where she swam her age.

Cashell is a member of the a two-way English Channel relay between England and France on behalf of the Down Syndrome Ireland organisation together with Maeve Ryan, Eoin O'Riordan, Owen O'Keefe, Lynne Donnelly, and Caitlin Desmond under the escort of Michael Oram of the Channel Swimming & Piloting Federation. They completed their swim in 20 hours 29 minutes for a new Irish 2-way relay team record.
