Cecilia Elizabeth Biagioli (born 3 January 1985 in Concordia, Entre Ríos, Argentina) is an Olympic and national record-holding pool and open water swimmer from Argentina. She swam for Argentina at the 2000 Sydney Olympics, 2004 Athens Olympics and 2008 Beijing Olympics as a pool swimmer. She qualified for the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim at the 2012 London Olympics by virtue of placing in the top 10 at the 2011 FINA World Championships 10 km race in Shanghai, China. She is also a top-ranked professional marathon swimmer on the FINA 10KM Marathon Swimming World Cup series and won the 2011 Pan American Games 10K race. She won the Cóndor de Oro by the Clarín newspaper and the Olimpia de Plata by the Círculo de Periodismo Deportivo (Circle of Sports Journalism) for her exploits in 2011.

She is coached by Claudio Biagioli.

Swimming Career

The four-time Olympic swimmer and multiple-time national record-holding swimmer finished 17th in the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim at the 2012 London Olympic Games. At the 2009 World Championship she set the South American Record in the 400 free (4:10.16). She is coached by her brother Claudio Biagioli. She also won the 17º and 18º Maratón Acuática Internactional Ciudad de Rosario competitions, the 15 km kick-off races on the FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix held annually in Rosario, Argentina. She won a silver medal in the 10 km marathon swim at the 2014 South American Games in Santiago, Chile.

2011 FINA World Championships

Biagioli placed 5th (2:02:12.0) in the 2011 FINA World Championships in the 10K in Shanghai, China which qualified her for the 2012 London Olympics, her fourth Olympic Games.
