Randy Perkins, also known as Conquistador is an American open water swimmer who crossed of the Straits of Magellan on 20 January 2013. The water temperature ranged from 36.5-41ºC (2.2-5ºF) where he faced currents ranging between 11 to 17 knots (nautical miles per hour) as he was escorted by Coach Pedro Ordenes of Water World Swim to Tierra del Fuego, Chile.
