Djerba (Arabic: جربة‎ Ǧirba), also transliterated as Jerba or Jarbah, is the largest island of North Africa, located in the Gulf of Gabes, off the coast of Tunisia with a population of 139,544 and the starting point of the 1400K Swim Across Tunisia.

Djerba has a mild climate and is a popular tourist destination, particularly for Australian, New Zealand, and Czech tourists. It is known for its beautiful beaches and dramatic sunsets and the 1977 location of the Mos Eisley exterior scenes in the first Star Wars movie, filmed in the town of Ajim.

Legend has it that Djerba was the island of the Lotus-Eaters where Odysseus stranded on his voyage through the Mediterranean.
