Durgan is a tiny village with a small sandy beach available at most times although it is fairly narrow at high tide. There is also a slipway which has a very small rocky beach next to it. You can park at the top of the hill for £2 and walk down the coast path (5 mins) to get to the very pretty and quiet village. The beaches are on the side of the estuary opposite Helford and afford some beautiful views across the river. You can swim in the deep, slow moving waters quite safely for a good distance whilst remaining close to the shore. There is a small cave in the rocks about 100 metres from the beach which can be swum to if you're a confident swimmer.
