noun, verb - Eggbeater is a term used to describe effective treading in water where the individual remains vertical in the water. It is used by water polo players, synchronized swimmers, lifeguards and open water swimmers.

During the feeding stop, the marathon swimmer used eggbeater to keep afloat while drinking his Maxim.
