Erica Rose

Erica Rose (b. 1982) is a World Champion American open-water swimmer from Cleveland Heights, Ohio, and currently residing in Ann Arbor, Michigan. She participated in the investigative committee that reviewed and made recommendations about the circumstances around the death of Fran Crippen at a FINA-sanctioned professional marathon swim in Dubai.

Erica burst onto the international open-water scene in 1998 by winning the 5K World Championship in Perth, Australia. Subsequently, she won 10 U.S. Open-Water National Championships at various distances and competed on the National Team for 12 years.

Erica retired from elite competition in 2009. She still regularly competes in Chicago's Big Shoulders 5K open-water swim. In 2011, she won the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim, beating 3-time champion John van Wisse.
