noun - Fédération Internationale de Natation Amateur or FINA is the international governing body of swimming, water polo, diving, synchronized swimming and open water swimming, recognized by the International Olympic Committee for administering international aquatic competitions, and under the direction of Cornel Marculescu. It was founded in 1908 and is headquartered in Lausanne, Switzerland. It was recognized by the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame as an Honour Organisation.

Fédération Internationale de Natation Amateur sanctions the FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix, FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup, FINA Junior Open Water Swimming Championships and the 5 km, 5 km Team Pursuit, 10 km and 25 km races at the FINA World Swimming Championships.

Fédération Internationale de Natation Amateur administers two different global open water swimming circuits in addition to the biennial World Swimming Championships held every odd year.
