Felixstowe Swimscapes after River-to-River Swim in September 2012
Felixstowe Swimscapes Outdoor Swimming is an open water swimming pod that swims in North Sea off Felixstowe, Suffolk, England. The pod was founded in Spring 2012 by Seamus Bennett and Alice Palmer. In 2012 there were 50 swimmers, with double that number in 2014. People do not have to join, sign or pay, just turn up with a positive, open approach and be willing to look out for others. Regular swims are Saturday mornings and Mondays 6 pm May - September. This year, with a new beach hut as a base, the group will continue Saturday swimming year-round.

To promote open water swimming, especially sea swimming, and to allow swimmers of all abilities the chance to support each other to swim regularly, aiming to improve their skills, fitness, confidence and enjoyment of the open water. Open water swimmers can ask swim questions, suggest swims, share tips and good places to swim with each other. There is a Swimscapes Facebook Page for all to access, and an open group which anyone can request to join.

Seamus Bennett is a lifelong UK-based swimmer, swim teacher and coach, and a member of Swim Smooth Coaches Network, having attended an SS Coaches Education course in 2012. Also in 2012, Seamus set up new sea swimming pod called Felixstowe Swimscapes Outdoor Swimming in North Sea off Felixstowe, Suffolk, England. Already an ASA Level 2 aquatics teacher, in 2013 he qualified as a Level 2 Open Water Swimming Coach with the NOWCA / STA.
