Stamford Open Water Swim
The Swim Across America Greenwich - Stamford Open Water Swim is held on 22 June 2013 and includes swimmers of all ages and skill levels. Participants choose among the 1/2-mile, 1.5-mile, 3-mile or 5-mile course. Participants may also volunteer as a boater, kayaker or land volunteer. Organized by Co-Event directors Kerry Anderson and Jacque' Lang, proceeds from the charity swim benefit the Alliance for Cancer Gene Therapy, the nation’s only foundation dedicated exclusively to funding cancer gene therapy research.
Swimmers must be at least 12 years old with exceptions to be reviewed by the event director.
- 1/2 mile, and 1.5 mile Swimmers - US$500
- 3 mile Challenge Swimmers - US$3,000
- 5 mile Challenge Swimmers - US$500
Note: Swimmers under the age of 18 have a US$300 minimum. The US$50 registration fee counts towards the fundraising goal.
Team Size - A Team must consist of at least 5 members who raise a minimum of US$500 each.
Corporate Challenge Team - A team comprised of at least 2 swimmers who are committed to raise a minimum of US$1,000 each. A special "Corporate Cup" trophy will be awarded to the top team and they will be given a full page ad in our event journal to promote their corporation's support of Swim Across America.
Special "thank you" incentives will be provided for various fundraising thresholds: Individuals who raise over US$3,000, swimmers who recruit a new friend to swim in this year's event and the top fundraising team

Prizes will be awarded to the fastest male and female swimmer and to the top three individual fundraisers. The top fundraising team will also receive recognition at our post-event festivities.
