2011 sees the 20th anniversary of the 1-mile and 3-mile swims in the beautiful New York Hudson Valley. The event started with a single solo swimmer and has seen thousands of swimmers cross the expanse of the majestic Hudson River over the last two decades. The charity swim has supported several charities over the years and have raised approximately US$2 million for worthy causes, such as the Leukemia & Lymphona Society.
The mission has been to raise awareness of the Hudson River, promote swimming as a lifelong form of fitness, and to raise funds for the ongoing efforts of charities in the community.
