Ishak Helmy

Ishak Helmy is an Egyptian open water swimmer who was inducted in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame as an Honour Swimmer in 1980. Helmy was the ninth person to successfully cross the English Channel in 1928 when he swam from France to England in 23 hours 40 minutes. He also helped rescue Lilian Harrison on her English Channel attempt in 1925.
