Izu Peninsula

The Izu peninsula (Japanese: 伊豆半島) is a large mountainous peninsula with deeply indented coasts to the west of Tokyo on the Pacific coast of the island of Honshū, Japan. Part of Shizuoka Prefecture, the peninsula is the location of several marine events including the Izu Oshima Open Water Swim that is ranked among the Top 50 Open Water Swims In Asia and the World's Top 100 Open Water Swims.

Oshima Open Water Swim

A 1 km and 2 km ocean swim on Yunohama Beach on Oshima Island, held annually in September.
