John Slater

John Slater was one of the founding fathers of the British Long Distance Swimming Association and its first Honorary Secretary in 1956. John swam in Lake Windermere in 1955 and races in Morecambe Cross Bay, Morecambe Inshore, Yorkshire River Race, and the St. Germans to King’s Lynn Championship. He was inducted in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame in 1980 as an Honour Swimmer.
