Katy Dooley is an American open water swimmer from Austin, Texas who became the 70th person in history to achieve the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming. She has also competed in Ironman triathlons, running marathons, and other endurance events to raise awareness and funds for non-profit organizations lie Got2Swim and Safe for Athletes.

[edit] Marathon Swimming Career

Dooley successfully crossed the 20.2-mile Catalina Channel from Catalina Island to the California mainland in 2 September 2011 in 9 hours 49 minutes. Then she crossed the 21-mile English Channel from England to France in 11 hours 16 minutes on 6 September 2012. She also completed the 28.5-mile Manhattan Island Marathon Swim on 8 June 2013 in 7 hours 44 minutes.

She completed a 4-person relay at the 2011 Manhattan Island Marathon Swim, the Red Licorice Open Water Swim, the 12-mile Lake Travis Relay.
