Kristin Jones is a 23-year-old American pool and open water swimmer from Juneau, Alaska who swims in order to raise money for the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance.

Open Water Career

She won the overall women's title at the WOWSA World 10-mile Swimming Championships held in Lake Memphremagog, Vermont held on 6 July 2013 where she was escorted by kayaker Elizabeth Otto. She also finished the 12.3-mile Swim Around Key West in 5 hours 16 minutes where she swam in order to raise money for the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance.

She also won the 2013 10 km Sitka Sound Adventure Swim and the 8.2-mile Pennock Island Challenge in Alaska as charity swims for the Friedreich’s Ataxia Research Alliance, and will participate in the 2014 S.C.A.R. Swim Challenge in Arizona.

In 2014, she won the women's title at the Tempe Town Lake 4 km race, the first of three races in the Arizona Open Water Swim Series.
