The Mad Swim or the Madagascar Swim was a 458 km stage swim and charity event that took 24 days and a cumulative total of 155 hours in the water between 28 February and 23 March 2014 by Thane Guy Williams and Jonno Proudfoot, a pair of South African open water swimmers, who swam across the Mozambique Channel from Mozambique to Madagascar in an unassisted manner. It was nominated for the Night Jar Travel Adventure of the Year award.
