Malcolm Cooper

Malcolm Cooper has been competing in swimming since he was age 11; he was as a High School All-American; Malcolm swam all years from 1975-1979 at Harvard University where he was a Division I All-American and All-Ivy in multiple years; he swam summers 1976 and 1977 for Punahou Aquatics in Hawaii; and has placed in the Top Ten in Masters Swimming Nationals in numerous events between the years 1983 - 2003 in a variety of strokes and distances; placed in his age-group in the Waikiki Roughwater Swim in 2002 and 2003; and has swum the Maui Channel Swim every year since 2001; and

He has served as a Coach with Maui Masters Swim Club since 1999, Maui Dolphins since 2001; head coach for Seabury Hall 2001-2004 where he twice earned Maui News Coach of the Year honors; has been race director for many ocean races; an American Swimming Coaches Association coach member since 2001, currently a Level 2 Coach; and is Chairman of the Board of Directors for Hawaii Masters Swimming and Chairman of the Board of Directors for Hawaii Age-Group Swimming; and so Cooper is inducted into the Hawaii Swimming Hall of Fame as a Contributor to Swimming in Hawaii.
