Mary Brooks (Fermoy SC) accepts the Martin Duggan Memorial Shield for the Youngest Swimmer in 2013.
Mary Brooks is a swimmer with Fermoy SC and is from Mitchelstown, Ireland. Brooks' first open water race was the 2 km Martin Duggan Memorial Swim in the River Blackwater, Fermoy in 2013. At this event, she was the recipient of the Martin Duggan Memorial Shield for the Youngest Swimmer. She is the younger sister of Stephen Brooks and Ellen Brooks, both former recipients of the same award.

Martin Duggan Memorial Shield

The Martin Duggan Memorial Shield is awarded to the youngest swimmer to complete the Martin Duggan Memorial Swim, formerly known as the Blackwater Swim. It was first awarded in 2009 having being donated to the event by the family of Martin Duggan. The recipients to date are:
