Michel Villeneuve is a Canadian engineer of forestry from Roberval, Québec. With woodwork as his hobby, he creates handscrafted kayaks and row boats of mahogany, donating his time to escort local open water swimmers and professional marathon swimmers in practice and competition.

Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean

Villeneuve volunteers for the Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean and has been involved with the event since 2012. He was a kayaker for on-water security for the 1 km, 2 km, and 5 km events. Fluent in both French and English, he serves as a bi-lingual host for athletes and coaches together with his wife Lucie Drolet.
