noun - OTL is an acronym for Over Time Limit. It is the official designation when an athlete does not finish the race within the specified time given by the race organizer. The specified time could be a certain number of hours or minutes or the maximum amount of time that is allowed for swimmers to remain in the water after the first swimmer finishes the race. Time limits can start from the finish time of the first swimmer or are pre-determined time periods after the start.

The race results showed OTL after his name.
