Palmy Manly Swim

The Palmy Manly Swim is the longest marathon swims in Australia, a 28 km (17.39-mile) swim from North Palm Beach in Sydney to Manly’s Shelly Beach on 2 June 2012. 20 English Channel swimmers and open water swimmers from Australia, the USA, the UK and Europe will take on the 19°C (66°F) water with variable weather conditions.

Organized by English Channel swimmer Iain McGregor who describes the Palmy Manly Swim as "a true classic for Australia’s East Coast that will pass 16 of Sydney’s iconic surfing beaches including Palm Beach, Whale Beach, Avalon, Narrabeen, Dee Why, Curl Curl and Freshwater before finishing at Manly’s Shelley Beach."

It is one of the longest marathon swims in the world.

Participants

Participants include English Channel swimmers Iain McGregor, two-way swimmer Stuart Johnson and Collie Kinsella, as well as 2012 English Channel aspirants including Ben Hutt, Wyatt Song, Tori Gorman, Wayne Arthur and Alistair March.
