Rachel Golub is an extreme open water swimmer who specializes in cold water swims. She is a member of CIBBOWS (Coney Island Brighton Beach Open Water Swimmers) and a world record holder for the first two-way crossing of the 3-mile Beagle Channel between Argentina to Chile, together with Patricia Sener, Cristian Vergara in 4°C (38°F) without wetsuits. She also crossed the Strait of Magellan in 2009 together with Cristian Vergara, Mark Lautman, and Scott Lautman

Golub swam the Beagle Channel in Patagonia with a bikini and is an extraordinarily talented multi-instrumentalist (violinist, sitar player and string arranger), vocalist and composer. She combines the intensity and structure of classicism with the freedom and sensuality of improvisation in her compositions.
