Ray Meltvedt is an American open water swimmer, member of the OC Open Water Swims Group, and a member of the Catalina Channel Half Century Club with his 2010 Catalina Channel crossing done at the age of 50 in 15 hours 25 minutes. He was also the only swimmer to complete an open water swim around all 27 piers of the Fear No Pier stage swim of 17-18 August 2013 in Southern California.

Catalina Channel Relay

Meltvedt was also part of the world record setting As Seen On TV that set the 20.2-mile Catalina Channel - Fastest Mixed (3 man and 3 women) 50-59 Catalina-to-Mainland Relay record in 9 hours 38 minutes together with Barbara Held, Marc Horwitz, Julian Rusinek, Lynn Kubasek, and Roni Hibben on 1 July 2013.
