Sally Anne Minty-Gravett from Jersey is a swimming coach and open water swimmer who was inducted as an Honour Swimmer in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame in 2005.

She is the President of the Jersey Long Distance Swimming Club and has taught many to enjoy swimming and open water swimming. She has successfully crossed the English Channel five separate times over the course of five sequential decades and will attempt an two-way crossing of the English Channel in the future.

She received the Centenary Cup award from the Channel Swimming Association in 1975 for being the 'Fastest Swim of the Year by a British Person' across the English Channel. She is also member of the Catalina Channel Half Century Club for her 9 hour 51 minute crossing of the Catalina Channel from Catalina Island to the California mainland in 2006 (for her second Oceans Seven channel swim). She was initially coached by Jersey Long Distance Swimming Club founder Maurice Lakeman on her first English Channel swim.

She is married to Charlie Gravett of the Channel Swimming & Piloting Federation and the Jersey Long Distance Swimming Club.


Global Open Water Swimming Conference

She will speak at the 2013 Global Open Water Swimming Conference, a conference hosted and organised by Oswald Schmidt, Paschal Horgan, Captain Tom McCarthy, [Ciaran O'Connor]], Finbarr Hedderman, and Ned Denison in Cork, Ireland. The other presenters include Professor Tom Doyle, Trevor Woods, Dr. Angel Yanagihara, Dr. Lunt & Dr. Adams, Fergal Somerville, Kevin Murphy, Niek Kloots, and Wayne Soutter.

Centenary Cup Recipients

The Centenary Cup is given to the 'Fastest Swim of the Year by a British Person' across the English Channel awarded by the Channel Swimming Association.
