Sandra Frimerman-Bergquist (Sandra Frimerman born 10 July 1983), is an open water swimmer and swim coach for Sabes JCC Masters Swimming in Minnesota who participated in the 26-mile (42 km) Extreme North Dakota Watersports Endurance Test (END-WET) in the Red River (Grand Forks, North Dakota, USA) on 21 July 2012 and on 13 July 2013 where she finished third in 7 hours 1 minute and in 2014.

Swimming Career

High School

Sandra attended Eden Prairie High School specializing in distance freestyle and butterfly.

College

Sandra attended University of Northern Iowa setting school records in the 500 freestyle, 1000 freestyle, 1650 freestyle, 200 butterfly and 800 freestyle Relay.

Masters

Berguist holds Minnesota Masters Swimming Records in 400 individual medley and 1000 freestyle.

Open Water Swims

Personal

She studied Environmental Studies at St. Cloud State University and currently lives in Eden Prairie, Minnesota. Her husband David Bergquist is also an open water swimmer. She swims to raise awareness of mental illnesses and breaking the stigma associated with mental illnesses.

END-WET

The Extreme North Dakota Watersports Endurance Test or END-WET, is a 36-mile (57.9 km) mixed-sports event where solo and relay open water swimmers pit themselves against other endurance athletes down the Red River between North Dakota and East Grand Forks, Minnesota in the United States. It is one of the longest marathon swims in the world. The event is organized and directed by Andy Magness.
