- Thomas holds the world record at the Horsetooth Open Water Swim
- Thomas led the 2012 24-mile Tampa Bay Marathon Swim before it was cancelled due to thunderstorms
- Thomas is the 58th person to complete the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming: She completed a Catalina Channel crossing on 27 July 2010 in 9 hours 6 minutes, the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim on 18 June 2011 in 7 hours 36 minutes, and the English Channel in 11 hours 23 minutes on 13 August 2012
- Thomas became the first person to complete a two-way crossing of Lake Tahoe in 22 hours 15 minutes (11 hours 38 minutes for her first lap and 10 hrs 47 minutes for the second lap
