Scott Meyer is a member of the Dawn Patrol with Chris Geer, Pete Cassiano, Matt Hanson, Steve Schlom, Michael Bergkvist, and Shawn Oatey. The Dawn Patrol trains at the LBYC pool, outside the Seal Beach Pier (with the Seal Beach Sea Monkeys, and in the inner bay at Belmont Shore.

Meyer grew up in Seal Beach. In the summer after seventh grade he participated in the Seal Beach Junior Lifeguard program, where Matt Hanson (in high school at the time) was his instructor. About that time Scott began surfing, which he has done continuously since. A graduate of Los Alamitos High School, with Chris Geer, Scott attended Goldenwest and Mesa Colleges before transferring to San Diego State in the fall of 1990. He learned how to sail at SDSU and has crewed on various boats in local regattas. Scott and his wife Heather moved to Naples Island in 1994, married at the Colonnade and now have three children – Kennedy (10), Reynolds (5½ ) and Katrina (3½). The whole family is avid swimmers and loves the ocean. They spend much of their summertime enjoying Alamitos Bay and surfing at local beaches. In the past two years he swum the Huntington Beach Pier Swim – 2X, Naples Island Swim (1 mile) – 2X, Seal Beach Rough Water Swim (1 mile) – 1X.
