Scott Zornig is the president of the Santa Barbara Channel Swimming Association and an accomplished open water swimmer. He was the 90th person to swim from Catalina Island to Pt. Vincente and the 4th person to swim from Anacapa Island to Ventura on the California mainland. He also swam around Manhattan Island (28.5 miles) and was a member of a relay which recorded the first swim from San Clemente Island to San Clemente (60 miles).

In 2007, Zornig and 5 teammates circumnavigated Catalina Island in under 24 hours and set a time record. He also completed the first inter-island marathon swim in the California Channel Islands with a 5.6-mile swim from Anacapa Island to Santa Cruz Island in 2007 (2:18). Zornig is a U.S. Masters Swimming All-American and the current holder of five long-distance open water swimming records.

He is also the founder of the Swim for Hope and the Master of the Seas. Swim for Hope has raised nearly US$500,000 over the past 10 years for the City of Hope's pediatric cancer research. Zornig is also the coach of the Master of the Seas, a program that provides high-quality open water swimming instruction. Its goal is to give individuals the confidence and skills necessary for enjoyment and top performance in open water events.

He organized and swim the first OC Coast To Coast Boast in 2001 with Craig Taylor as well as the second 11-day 40.99-mile OC Coast To Coast Boast along the entire Orange County coastline from June to August 2013.
