Simone Ruffini, World-class Marathon Swimmer
Simone Ruffini is a world-class open water swimmer from Italy who won the inaugural World University Games 10K marathon swim in China. The Italian marathon star won the 26th Universiade marathon swim by a comfortable margin of over 2 minutes, and the FINA Open Water Swimming Grand Prix race in Cozumel, Mexico.

"I'm so tired. Though I'm the 9th in the men's 5K at the FINA World Championships in Shanghai, it's always my dream to win the first place," said the 22-year-old student from Italy. The official men's results are here.
