Swedish lids are caused by prolonged and repeated use of Swedish goggles
noun - Swedish lids are the calluses that appears as a bump of flesh on the upper eyelids caused by wearing Swedish goggles. The calluses are caused by pressure or friction on skin of the plastic edge of the Swedish goggles against the soft flesh over the eye socket. Swedish lids are formed as the skin thickens as a protective reaction. Swedish lids can appear even after one long swimming workout, but are more often caused as a result of repeated daily use of Swedish goggles.
