Tahoe Rough Water Swim
The Tahoe Rough Water Swim is 1.2 miles long and 1.2 miles high and held on 14 September 2013, one week before the Ironman Lake Tahoe Triathlon. The 1.2-mile swim follows the same swim course as the inaugural Ironman Lake Tahoe. The plastic-free event is organized by Jamie Patrick and Paul Lundgren as it follows the principles of the Plastic Disclose Project event management.
Kings Beach - North Lake Tahoe, California
The Tahoe Rough Water will be a four-point, rectangle out-and-back course. Each age group will start in their own wave 4 minutes apart. Course will be marked every 200m as well as large turn buoys. For safety reasons all waves start in hip high water.
1.2 miles - One lap of the 2.4 mile Ironman Lake Tahoe Swim Course

The swim will be at an altitude of 1.2 miles in the pristine alpine waters of Lake Tahoe. Water temperatures will be in the low to high 60’s.
This event will be fully chipped timed. Ankle readers will be given out at check-in. There will be a $50 fee for non returned chips.
$119 - Includes entry, awards, post race party at, logo-ed bamboo utensils and other swag, but does not include a $10 parking fee.
All swimmers will receive a reusable bamboo utensil set. There will be unique custom awards for overall category winners 1st through 3rd and age group winners. Swimmers can compete in one of two separate categories (Non-Wetsuit and Wetsuit). Non-Wetsuit Age Group Awards – Male and Female 19 and under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and up.
