From OpenwaterpediaAquatic Capital of America Foundation and a graduate of Long Beach State. In college, he was the founding President of the Phi Sigma Epsilon a Chapter of the National Sales and Marketing Fraternity, President of the Society for the Advancement of Management, and the 49er Club. He completed his graduate studies at The Wharton School and retired as Senior Vice President of Morgan Stanley after 42 year in the Long Beach, California office.
Shadden is active on many philanthropic boards in Long Beach including a long affiliation with Long Beach Memorial Medical Center and its Foundation, where he serves as a Director and Past President. He is also a Director of the LBMMC Heart and Vascular Institute and as a Board of Governor for the Sea Festival of Long Beach, and a member of the Long Beach Yacht Club in 1968 where he was Chairman of the 1975 Congressional Cup and was elected Commodore in 1980.
