Yasunari Hirai (born 1990) is the top professional marathon swimmer and the first male Olympic marathon swimmer from Japan. He is coached by Kenichiro Mori.

He participated in the 2011 FINA World Championships in Shanghai, China and is an emerging presence on the professional marathon swimming circuit. He also placed fourth in the 10 km race and third in the 5 km race at the 2012 Australian Open Water Swimming Championships.

He finished 15th in the Olympic 10km Marathon Swim at the 2012 London Olympics on 10 August 2012 in the Serpentine in Hyde Park by virtue of his finish at the 2012 FINA Olympic 10km Marathon Swimming Qualifier in Setubal Bay, Portugal. He also represented Japan in the 2013 World University Games 10 km marathon swim in Kazan, Russia on 7 July and Japan in the 10 km marathon swim and the 5 km team pursuit at the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain.
