Yumigahama Beach in Shizuoka Prefecture, Japan

静岡県南伊豆町弓ヶ浜海水浴場: 「日本の渚・100選」にも選ばれた美しい弓形の砂浜が1200m続く海水浴場です。浜辺から100mくらい先まで歩いて行けるほど遠浅で、波も比較的穏やかですので、小さいお子様がいるファミリーやグループにおすすめです。水の透明度も高く、伊豆の三大美浜のひとつに数えられます。

Yumigahama Beach is a beach in Izu-machi, Shizuoka, Japan. The beach faces eastward out to the Pacific Ocean and the Izu Islands in a sweeping arc around a calm bay. Yumigahama Beach is in the Izu National Park in Shizuoka, Japan.


It is also site of the Japan International Open Water Swimming Association's Japan International Masters Open Water Swimming Championships held annually in September on the relatively uncrowded 2-kilometer long beach with decent surf and mostly calm conditions about 2 hours south from Tokyo by train where the hustle and bustle of the urban life can be easily forgotten. It is the site of the International Masters Open Water Swim Race (国際マスターズOWS弓ヶ浜大会開催) and sponsored by the Japan International Open Water Swimming Association (日本国際オープンウォータースイミング協会).
