Chad Ho




Chad Ho (born 21 June 1990) is a 27-year-old 2008 and 2016 South African Olympian and world-class open water swimmer.

Open Water Swimming Career
- He was awarded both the South Africa Open Water Swimmer of the Year and Performance of the Year in 2011.
- He was the overall series winner of the 2010 FINA 10K Marathon Swimming World Cup series
- He is an annual star at the aQuellé Midmar Mile, winning 6 races in a row (in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2014, 2015 and 2016). He finished second in 2016 and 2018.
- He has won many other open water swims in his native South Africa including the SPAR Redhouse River Mile.
- He won the 2012 Great Manchester Swim in England
- He participated in Battle Training
- He annually competes in the King and Queen of the Sea competition in Rio de Janeiro, Brasil.
- He finished fourth in the 5 km race at the 2014 FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain on 20 July 2014.
- He won the 2014 South African National Open Water Swimming Championships in the 10 km
- He won the 2015 FINA World Swimming Championships 5 km race in Kazan, Russia.
- He finished 10th in the 2016 Olympic 10km Marathon Swimming Qualification Race in Setubal to qualify for the Olympic 10K Marathon Swim at the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.
- He finished 11th in the 5 km race at the 2016 FINA World Swimming Championships in Lake Balaton, Hungary on 15 July.
- He won the 10 km race at the 2016 South Africa Open Water Swimming Championships in Eikenhof Dam on 5 March 2016 in 1:58:26.29 over Troy Prinsloo in 1:58:26.64.
- He won the 10 km race at the 2016 South Africa Open Water Swimming Championships on 4 March 2016 in 1:51:26.25 over Nicolaos Manoussakis in 1:52:16.00.
- He finished 4rd in the 10 km race at the 2019 South African Open Water Swimming Championships in Jeffreys Bay.
- He competed on the 2019 FINA / CNSG Marathon Swim World Series in Seychelles on 12 May 2019.
