Cowichan Lake

Cowichan Lake is one of the largest bodies of fresh water on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada. The lake is located 20 minutes (31 kilometers) west of Duncan along Highway 18. The Cowichan Lake region includes the villages of Youbou, Caycuse, Honeymoon Bay, Mesachie Lake, and The Town of Lake Cowichan.

Marathon Swimming[edit]

Susan Simmons and Alex Cape swam 34 km across the length of Cowichan Lake in July 2013 in 11 hours 45 minutes. The pair also completed a double crossing of the lake in August 2014 called Swimmers Last Longer.
