Drafting

verb - Drafting is a form of positioning and an open water swimming race tactic where athletes positions themselves directly behind or on the side of other athletes in order to reduce drag and resistance and aid in navigation. Drafting is legal in most races, although there are exceptions. It is one element of the concept of interleaving in the training of open water swimmers and triathletes.
verb - To draft is to swim close behind, or slightly to the side, usually somewhere between the hips and ankles, of another open water swimmer (or swimmers) in order to take advantage of their slipstream, especially in a race.
