Open Water Swimming Career[edit]

  • On 23 June 2022, he completed a Guernsey to France crossing, escorted by Matthew Clarke.
  • He completed a 42 km crossing of the Molokai Channel from Molokai to Oahu in 19 hours 29 minutes on 17 April 2022.
  • He completed a 26.4 km crossing of Lake Zurich in Switzerland in 7 hours 59 minutes on 8 August 2010.
  • He completed a 33.5 km crossing of the English Channel from England to France in 11 hours 3 minutes on 13 September 2010.
  • He competed in a 4 km in Colwick Park finishing in 53:52 minutes on 16 May 2010.
  • He completed a 3-mile crossing of the Hellespont in 1 hour 37 minutes on 3 May 2010.
  • He participated in a 10.5-mile Coniston (relay) finishing in 4 hours 27 minutes on 17 July 2010.
  • He completed a 45.9 km Manhattan Island Marathon Swim in 8 hours 11 minutes on 18 June 2011.
  • He attempted the 17.5-mile Ederle Swim in New York on 1 October 2011.
  • He completed the 19.7 km Rottnest Channel Swim in Western Australia in 7 hours 9 minutes on 26 February 2011.
  • He completed a 21.6-mile crossing of Loch Lomond in Scotland in 11 hours 4 minutes on 26 August 2012.
  • He competed in the 4-mile BLDSA Torbay in the UK in 1 hour 56 minutes on 14 July 2012.
  • He competed in the 9-mile Champion of Champions in the UK in 4 hours 17 minutes on 16 June 2012.
  • He completed a 10.5-mile crossing of Lake Windermere in the UK in 5 hours 28 minutes on 31 August 2013.
  • He completed a 14.4 km crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar from Spain to Morocco in 4 hours 3 minutes on 19 June 2014.
  • On 22 July 2014, he completed a 35 km crossing of the North Channel from Northern Ireland to Scotland in 11 hours 9 minutes at the age of 47. He was the first Australian and the first Southern Hemisphere swimmer to complete a crossing of the North Channel.
  • On 21 July 2015, he completed a 19.5 km crossing of the Tsugaru Channel from Honshu to Hokkaido in Japan in 11 hours 32 minutes at the age of 47.
  • On 2 July 2016, he finished 6th in the 12.9 BLDSA Torbay in the UK in 4 hours 4 minutes 12 seconds at the age of 48.
