Kathrin Lammers is a German coach in Dubai and a former marathon swimmer who serves as a Marathon Swimming Mentor.

Coaching Career[edit]
Lammers has been teaching and coaching in the Middle East for more than 15 years. She has coached and taught in Germany, Egypt and the United States before coming to Dubai. In the past 10 years she has lead the Aquatic part of the PE Department in International Schools. While working in the PE Department her school team earned three overall victories at the British School Middle East Games. This year when working with the American Curriculum, her varsity team came second at the MESAC Games.
Open Water Swimming Career Highlights[edit]
- Lammers has been swimming since age 5. She swam at national and international level and had earned herself a full scholarship at San Jose State University, California when competing in short distance events.
- She represented Germany for seven years when swimming Long Distance events, ranked fourth in the world in 1996 and 1997 and placed regularly in the top three at FINA World Cup events around the world.
- She received a Certificate of Merit in 2003 from the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame.
- She was inducted as an Honor Swimmer in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame of Class of 2018.
- She finished 8th in the 500m freestyle at the 2018 Ice Swimming Aqua Sphere German Open in Bavaria, Germany on 7 January 2018.
Open Water Swimming Career Highlights[edit]
- On 28 July 1996, she finished the 32 km Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean in 10 hours 58 minutes 55 seconds as the 3rd woman, 9th overall.
- On 27 July 1997, she finished the 32 km Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean in 11 hours 4 minutes 13 seconds as the third woman, 13th overall.
- On 31 July 1999, she finished the 32 km Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean in 9 hours 48 minutes 13 seconds as the 8th woman, 21st overall.
- On 29 July 2000, she finished the 32 km Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean in 8 hours 16 minutes 15 seconds as the 8th woman, 21st overall.
- On 27 July 2002, she finished the 32 km Traversée internationale du lac St-Jean in 9 hours 4 minutes 14 seconds as the 2nd woman, 9th overall.
- In 1996, she completed the 25 km Swim Across The Sound in Connecticut, USA in 7 hours 25 minutes 5 seconds.
- In 1997, she completed the 25 km Swim Across The Sound in Connecticut, USA in 6 hours 53 minutes 24 seconds.
- In 1998, she completed the 25 km Swim Across The Sound in Connecticut, USA in 5 hours 46 minutes 47 seconds.
- In 1999, she completed the shortened 9.7 km Swim Across The Sound in Connecticut, USA in 2 hours 26 minutes 25 seconds.
- In 2000, she completed the 25 km Swim Across The Sound in Connecticut, USA in 5 hours 44 minutes 6 seconds.
- In 2001, she completed the 25 km Swim Across The Sound in Connecticut, USA in 6 hours 3 minutes 50 seconds.
- On 2 August 1997, she completed the 37 km Atlantic City Around The Island Swim in New Jersey, USA in 11 hours 40 minutes 37 seconds at the 4th woman, 12th overall.
- On 22 April 1999, she finished third in the 37 km Tampa Bay Marathon Swim in Florida, USA in 9 hours 43 minutes at the age of 29.
- In 2002, she completed a 77 km circumnavigation swim around Île d'Orléans in Quebec, Canada in 13 hours 32 minutes.
- In 1997, she completed the 25 km FINA World Cup race along Rio de Janeiro's Copacabana Beach and around an island near Ipanema in Brazil.
