Open Water Swimming Career
- He completed a Catalina Channel crossing on 22 July 1957 in 17 hours 14 minutes as a 24-year-old
- He attempted a relay attempt across the Florida Straits with Cuban teammates Rolando Elejalde, Luciana Nunez and fellow Catalina Channel swimmer Jose Cortinas that was unsuccessful on 1 July 1950
- He had planned a second attempt of the Catalina Channel in September 1957
