Stephen Martin Filipowski is an Australian open water swimmer from Sydney who has completed five Oceans Seven channels and achieved the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.
Open Water Swimming Career[edit]
- On 18 June 2016, he completed a 26 km marathon swim from Palm Beach to Shelly Beach in Australia.
- On 25 February 2012, he completed a 19.7 Rottnest Channel Swim in Western Australia in 6 hours 35 minutes 25 seconds at the age of 48.
- In 2012, he completed the 10 km Balmoral Ocean Swim in Australia in 3 hours 4 minutes 35 seconds.
- On 23 February 2013, he completed the 19.7 km Rottnest Channel Swim in Western Australia in 6 hours 41 minutes 44 seconds at the age of 49.
- On 19 May 2013, he completed the 10 km South Head Roughwater in Bondi Beach, Australia in 2 hours 51 minutes.
- On 28 August 2013, he crossed the English Channel from England to France in 14 hours 39 minutes at the age of 50 where he received the Most Meritorious swim award in 2013.
- In 2014, he completed the 10 km Balmoral Ocean Swim in Australia in 2 hours 55 minutes 57 seconds.
- On 21 February 2015, he completed the 19.7 km Rottnest Channel Swim in Western Australia in 6 hours 55 minutes 40 seconds at the age of 51.
- On 27 August 2015, he completed a crossing of the Catalina Channel from Santa Catalina Island to the Southern California mainland in 12 hours 56 minutes 25 seconds at the age of 52.
- On 27 February 2016, he completed the 19.7 km Rottnest Channel Swim in Western Australia in 7 hours 19 minutes 36 seconds.
- On 15 August 2016, he completed the 45.8 km 20 Bridges Manhattan Island Swim in New York City in 7 hours 38 minutes 51 seconds.
- On 19 February 2017, he completed a crossing of the Cook Strait from North Island to South Island in 9 hours 6 minutes 14 seconds escorted by Philip Rush.
- On 3 May 2018, he completed a tandem swim crossing of the Strait of Gibraltar from Tarifa Island in Spain to Perejil Island in Morocco in 4 hours 18 minutes 7 seconds together with Thomas Pembroke, Mark Mallison, and Victor Pineiro.
- On 5 September 2018, he completed a 35 km crossing of the North Channel from Northern Ireland and Scotland in 12 hours 26 minutes at the age of 55.
