Miyuki Fujita is an open water swimmer from Japan who has crossed the English Channel 8 times and the Tsugaru Channel to complete 2 channels of the Oceans Seven. She has also completed a crossing of the Suruga Bay in Japan.
Open Water Swimming Career Highlights
- After making two attempts of the English Channel in 2004 (10 hours on the first attempt aborted due to thigh pain and 17 hours 35 minutes in the second attempt aborted 3 km from France), she crossed the English Channel 8 times including on 19 August 2011 in 18 hours 14 minutes when she was escorted by Neil Streeter.
- She completed a 11 hour 36 minute crossing of the Tsugaru Channel in 2005.
- She completed a 3-leg crossing of the Tsugaru Channel in a cumulative time of 37 hours 24 minutes. The first crossing was on 31 August 2006, the second crossing was on 2 September 2006, the third crossing was on 4 September 2006 between Honshu and Hokkaido in northern Japan.
- She is a member of the 24-hour club for her six-way crossing in 26 hours and 12 minutes in Japan between Awashima Island and Cape Ose in 2010.
- She completed 111 km of the 120 km distance of the Tsugaru Channel when she attempted to swim the entire length of the Tsugaru Channel from the Sea of Japan to the Pacific Ocean in 2009.
