Nancy Steadman-Martin is an attorney based out of New York and an American open water swimmer from Oceanport, New Jersey.

Open Water Swimming Highlights[edit]

  • She is a board member of the Swim Free organization, one of the oldest successful swimmers of the English Channel and a member of the Half Century Club and the Triple Crown of Open Water Swimming.
  • She has completed numerous open water swims, both short and far, including the Ederle Swim in 2010 in 5 hours 26 minutes and in 2006 in 5 hours 53 minutes, Manhattan Island Marathon Swim in 2003 in 8 hours 8 minutes, in 2009 in 7 hours 33 minutes, in 2007 in 9 hours 44 minutes, in 2000 in 9 hours 3 minutes, and in 1984 in 8 hours 8 minutes and with the Mighty Mermaids in 2009 in 7 hours 33 minutes.
  • On 26 August 1984, she placed 6th in the 45.8 km Manhattan Island Marathon Swim finishing in 8 hours 8 minutes 20 seconds at the age of 30.
  • On 17 June 2000, she placed 19th in the 45.8 km Manhattan Island Marathon Swim in New York finishing in 9 hours 3 minutes 18 seconds at the age of 46.
  • On 14 June 2003, she placed 6th in the 45.8 km Manhattan Island Marathon Swim in New York finishing in 8 hours 8 minutes 0 seconds at the age of 48.
  • On 10 August 2004, she crossed the English Channel from England to France in 11 hours 20 minutes 0 seconds at the age of 50.
  • She completed the 24-mile Tampa Bay Marathon Swim in 2004 in 10 hours 8 minutes.
  • On 5 November 2005, she completed a 10 km swim in Fort Myers Beach, Florida in 2 hours 31 minutes 14 seconds at the age of 51.
  • On 16 June 2007, she placed 10th in the 45.8 km Manhattan Island Marathon Swim in New York finishing in 9 hours 44 minutes 52 seconds at the age of 52.
  • On 14 July 2007, she completed a 10 km swim in Huntington Bay, New York in 3 hours 31 minutes 23 seconds at the age of 53.
  • On 13 August 2008, she completed the 32.3 km Catalina Channel crossing from Santa Catalina Island to Southern California mainland in 11 hours 46 minutes 1 second at the age of 54.
  • On 7 September 2013, she completed the 10 km Coney Island Triple Dip in Brighton Beach, New York in 3 hours 18 minutes 51 seconds at the age of 59.
  • On 23 August 2014, she completed the Lake George 10K Swim in Lake George, New York in 2 hours 34 minutes 32 seconds at the age of 61.
  • On 26 September 2015, she completed the 10 km Coney Island Triple Dip in Brighton Beach, New York in 3 hours 1 minutes 27 seconds at the age of 61.
  • On 30 July 2016, she completed the 16.1 km Kingdom Swim in Lake Memphremagog, Vermont in 4 hours 26 minutes 17 seconds at the age of 62.
  • On 6 November 2016, she placed 5th in the the Barbados 10K Swim in Carlisle Bay, Barbados in 2 hours 36 minutes 43 seconds at the age of 62.
  • On 8 October 2017, she completed the 10 km Bermuda Round The Sound 10K in Bermuda in 2 hours 48 minutes 32 seconds at the age of 63.
