Pan-American Colibrí Crossing


The Pan-American Colibrí Swim or the Nado Panamericano Colibrí is a cross-border swim by a group of ocean swimmers from five nations with the purpose to raise awareness and funds for the Colibri Center for Human Rights in the Pacific Ocean held on 5 May 2017. It is an example of Speedo diplomacy.

Course & Date[edit]
The 7.9 km course started at Imperial Beach near the Tijuana River National Estuarine Research Reserve in San Diego, California, USA and ended at Parque Mexico Sur Ubicacion in 3 hours 3 minutes, near the Fire Brigade, on Playas de Tijuana in Tijuana, Mexico in 16°C (61°F) water.
