Gino the Minnow by Scott Weston Wolford

Scott Wolford is a 51-year-old swimmer and author of Gino the Minnow and Ten Little Fish Swimming In The Sea. He is currently working on other children's environmental books including Larry the Litter Slug.

Gino the Minnow

Gino the Minnow is a loveable little fish that empowers children of all ages to do their part in keeping our water areas clean, no matter who they are. Adorable illustrations bring Gino’s story alive. Join Gino’s adventures around the world, as he helps solve the problems of litter in water areas. He of course cannot clean all of the world’s waters by himself and is asking everyone to please help.

Lake Michigan Swim

Wolford attempted a 120-mile (193 km) charity swim across Lake Michigan from Chicago to St. Joseph, Wisconsin and back to Chicago on 18 August 2016. His trainer for this swim was Annabel Lavers. The swim was sanctioned by the American Swim Federation and benefitted The Nature Conservancy, a land and water conservation charity. Wolford aborted the swim at 15 hours and 18.5 miles due to deteriorating weather conditions.
